The former Labour deputy leader and MP for West Bromwich East will bring Downsizing to the town hall on March 4.

He will give a frank account of how he radically changed the way he ate to lose eight stone and reversed his type 2 diabetes.

Mr Watson's appearance has altered dramatically over the last couple of years and the ex-politician is keen to spread his message of healthy eating an exercise. He is not expected to discuss his political career.

Mr Watson served as MP for West Bromwich East for 18 years until stepping down in the run-up to the general election. His former seat was won by Conservative candidate Nicola Richards.
