Update: Duke of Edinburgh makes a flying visit to Wolverhampton school - this is what neighbours saw
The Duke of Edinburgh arrived by helicopter for a flying visit to a West Midland school.
HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh visited Royal Wolverhampton Schoo today, where he is thought to have met pupils, staff and civic dignitaries.
The royal helicopter touched down at Windsor Avenue playing fields in Penn at about 11.30am, when he was whisked away by an awaiting car.
There had been a heavy security presence on the fields, with a build-up of unmarked police cars and motorcycles waiting in anticipation of the helicopter's arrival.
The Duke has been patron of the school since 2002, when he succeeded his grandmother, the Queen Mother.
