New college hair salon to offer opportunities for aspiring Wolverhampton hairdressers
Hairdressers from across the West Midlands are being invited to help celebrate the official launch of a new salon which will help train students in all the different styles and techniques.
Wolverhampton College has issued the invitation ahead of the official launch of the New Era Hair Salon, which has been in operation since November at the new City Learning Quarter Campus.
The event next Monday (February 9) will run from 1.30pm to 4pm and feature demonstrations and offer opportunities for apprentices and students to learn from industry experts.
A spokeswoman for Wolverhampton College said: "Hairdressers from across the region will be gathering to celebrate the opening of Wolverhampton College's new hair training salon, during National Apprenticeship Week.
"The official launch will see around 50 guests welcomed to the New Era Hair Studio at the college's City Learning Quarter campus in the centre of Wolverhampton.
"The event will include demonstrations by hairdressing apprentices and students doing full-time and part-time qualifications, as well as a presentation on the latest trends and equipment by a representative from industry supplier Aston and Fincher.
"Hairdressing tutors and assessors will also be on hand to talk to guests about professional qualifications and apprenticeships available to train new staff or upskill existing members of their team.
"The high street salon, which opened in November, is open to the public and provides a range of services including cuts and re-styles for women and men, children's cuts, colours, foils, perms and specialist services for African Caribbean hair.
"Appointments are available with students or trained stylists and discounts are available for students, NHS staff and local government employees.
"For a price list and to book an appointment, go to the New Era website."
