Armed police were seen at about 10am on the A41 Bilston road near the junction with Stowheath Lane in the Ettingshall area.

The Express & Star contacted West Midlands Police over the incident.

It has been reported the incident involved armed officers 'surrounding a car' before a man and woman got out and the man was 'detained' on the pavement.

However, the force was unable to confirm any details.

A member of staff from a local business, who did not want to be named, said: "Some customers rang saying police were outside our premises.

"They blocked the entrance, but it was nothing to do with our business. There were one or two cars there."

A number of traders in the area told the Express & Star they were unaware of what had happened.

The Express & Star has also contacted neighbouring police forces over the 'incident'.

More to follow.
