They have now called for CCTV to be installed to prevent further incidents.

They have enlisted the help of an MP to protect its female partner, who was also targeted in the incident at Parkes Hall, Mons Hill on Wednesday and has been left with a pellet embedded in it.

A vet who was sent to investigate the cause of death of the swan confirmed it was not disease related and was due to 'anti social behaviour.'

Dudley North MP Marco Longhi was called to the pool by residents who pointed out the injured swan and he identified the dead one which is still in the pool,

The injured swan is in the process of being moved to a safer area as investigations into the incident continue.
