Hero PCSO saves toddler from choking in Wolverhampton

Young Roxy, a toddler in her pushchair, began choking on a sweet.

The quick actions of a PCSO saved a toddler from choking in Wolverhampton.

PCSO Kenny Lewis is a well-known and well-loved officer on the streets of Bilston, always ready with a smile and a chat with the locals.

And some days turn out to be a bit different, as one of Kenny’s regular patrols proved a few weeks back.

While out and about, he bumped into several old friends, turning the shift into a lovely trip down memory lane.

But in a heartbeat, the ordinary turned life-threatening when young Roxy, a toddler in her pushchair, began choking on a sweet.

Her mum and nan were panicked as the little girl struggled to breathe.

Thankfully, Kenny was on hand and sprang into action without hesitation.

Using his first aid skills, he quickly dislodged the sweet and helped Roxy breathe again.

Mum and nan were left hugely relieved and incredibly grateful for Kenny’s actions after what could have been a tragedy.

Kenny has served as a PCSO for 16 years patrolling The Lunt and more recently the streets of Bilston.
