Fosun sending 100,000 facemasks to India

Wolves owner Fosun is sending 100,000 facemasks to Mumbai in India to help with the fight against the coronavirus surge in the country.

Another of the Chinese group's businesses Gland Pharma is shipping 150 ventilators made by Sweden's Breas Medical to India.

Fosun said: "We are proud of the two companies which are all from #Fosunfamily. Stay Strong India! We are with you!"

Fosun Pharma has also teamed up with BioNTech to develop the mRNA Covid-19 vaccine.

The group has provided PPE and medical equipment around the world where it has businesses to help in the pandemic.

Fosun recently reported a fall in profits and turnover for last year as it was hit by the coronavirus pandemic.Revenue was £15.1 billion from £16.2bn a year earlier with net profit down from £1.69bn to £890 million for the group.

Wolves, which Fosun bought in 2016 for £30m, is part of the Happiness business unit.

Fosun has altogether deployed three million pieces of medical supplies to support the frontline battle against the pandemic.
