Three more coronavirus deaths confirmed at Birmingham trust
Three coronavirus deaths have been reported at a hospital trust in Birmingham.
The three deaths were confirmed at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, where the death toll is now at 1,037.
The three deaths all took place on October 17.
No deaths were announced on Monday in hospital trusts in the Black Country and Staffordshire, in figures released by NHS England.
The death toll at hospitals across the region is now at 2,675.
A further 76 people in hospitals across England, who tested positive for coronavirus, have died in figures announced on Monday. The total number of deaths now stands at 31,047.
A total of 297 people have died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross and Cannock Chase hospitals.
No further patients died at Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where the total stands at 271.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust also remains at 234.
The death toll at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell and City hospitals, now stands at 399.
While a total of 365 have died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs Stafford County and Stoke Royal hospitals.
A spokesman for NHS England said: "A further 76 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 31,047.
"Patients were aged between 47 and 99 years old. All except one – aged 85 years old – had known underlying health conditions.
"Date of death ranges from October 9 to October 18.
"Their families have been informed."
