Eateries in snub from food guide

The West Midlands is a culinary desert for pub food, according to a new Michelin guide.
The firm, whose stars are the measure of the nation's best chefs and restaurants, does not feature a single Black Country outlet in its 2007 Eating Out In Pubs.
Birmingham also scores a duck and only two Staffordshire pubs are in - the Old Boat, Alrewas and The Hand and Trumpet at Wrinehill, near Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Shropshire and Hereford & Worcester do better, but the the nearest to the Black Country are the Bell & Cross at Clent, The Fox at Chetwynd Aston, near Newport, and the Hundred House, between Bridgnorth and Telford.
Guide spokesman Paul Cordle, said: "I suspect that a lot of it is down to tourism - there are very few good food pubs in city centres."
