Crime expert to talk about real-life Peaky Blinders at Dudley history group's next talk

The life and times of the real-life Peaky Blinders will come under the spotlight at a Black Country history group's next meeting.

Corinne Brazier, heritage manager of West Midlands Police Museum, will be giving a talk entitled Rogues, Villains and Peaky Blinders at  Sedgley Local History Society on March 12.

The talk will come just days after the release of the new Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man.

Visitors are invited to get into the spirit of the event by turning out in Peaky Blinders style fashion if they wish.

Corinne has been researching the real-life Peaky Blinders, street gangs who terrorised inner-city Birmingham in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, for the past nine years.

She will talk about career criminals such as Samuel Sheldon, a full-time gambler, George 'Cloggy’ Williams who was jailed for 18 years for killing a police officer.

The talk will be held at St Andrew's Church in Bilston Street, Sedgley, starting at 7.30pm.

Admission is £2.
