More than 300 plants were found alongside growing equipment inside the building located in the town centre.

Officers were tipped off about the grow from a member of the public.

The force raided the premises on Saturday, May 8.

No one was present at the drugs factory and so far nobody has been arrested.

It is one of several recent drug busts in Black Country town centres, with a 1,000-plant farm found in an old cinema in Wolverhampton.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We recovered around 350 cannabis plants from a shop unit in Dudley town centre High Street on Saturday.

"They were discovered on the back of intelligence received from the public. No-one was in the unit at the time and our enquiries are continuing.
