'Severe delays' on M5 and M6 between Walsall and Birmingham - AA travel maps warning
Delays of more than 12 minutes on top of regular travel time are being reported on the M5 and M6.
AA Travel Maps have warned of 'severe delays' of more than 12 minutes on the M5 Northbound between J1 A4252 Kenrick Way (West Bromwich/Birmingham) and the M6, with queues increasing.
The delays were first reported on the travel group website at around 9.57am, with the group reporting average speeds of 10mph.
On the AA website, the group said: "Severe delays of twelve minutes on M5 Northbound between J1 A4252 Kenrick Way (West Bromwich/Birmingham) and M6 J8.
"Average speed 10mph."
Further delays are being reported on the M6 Northbound between J8 M5 and J10A, with an average speed of 15mph.
AA Travel Maps said: "Severe delays of 13 minutes on M6 Northbound between J8 M5 and J10A.
"Average speed 15 mph."
Emergency services have been approached for more information.
