A man in his 20s remains in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in Mount View shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, January 31. A woman also sustained minor injuries after a number of gun shots were fired.

West Midlands Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances, but following enquiries it is their understanding that a group of men, who are suspected of being involved, fled on electric bikes.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock, from our major crime unit, said: "A man has been very seriously injured and we're determined to find out who was responsible for doing this.

"We're working round the clock to establish exactly what happened and we know there will be people who can help us.

"Both the man, and his family, deserve answers and we'd ask you to do the right thing as any footage, imagery or information could prove vital to the investigation."

West Midlands Police say they are keen to hear from anyone with information and have set up a Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) where any images, still or moving, can be submitted. They have also increased their police presence in the area following the incident.
