15 firefighters battle takeaway blaze in Willenhall
Around 15 firefighters have been battling a blaze at a takeaway in Willenhall.
Witnesses reported an 'explosion' at Pizza Stop on Nottingham Drive at 4.52pm this afternoon.
Three fire crews attended and had the flames contained in less than one hour.
There are several homes above the takeaway but everyone was evacuated safely.
Residents watching on said they saw large plumes of black smoke coming from the flu.
Speaking to the Express & Star landlord Azad Hussain said: "I opened the front door and saw flames coming from the right-hand side just behind the counter.
"Apart from that it was really dark because of the smoke. I was shocked. I am not sure how it started.
"I own the block, there are flats above which have suffered smoke damage. I am not sure how much damage has been caused inside the chip shop."
There are no reported injuries.
