Almost 80 people have left messages on Wolverhampton Police's Facebook page to the man, who has been named as Gareth Jones.

Floral tributes have also been left in Queen Square where he died in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Jones, from Wolverhampton, was out with a friend when he collapsed. His friend called an ambulance but paramedics were unable to save him.

Samantha Aston wrote on Facebook: "Will miss ya funny jokes such a caring man taken away from all that cared for him. Top man RIP Gaz." Sue Fanthom wrote: "RIP Gaz such a lovely lad and friend."

And Jamie Bate wrote: "Such a shame, Gaz was such a nice guy, it's sad that he's no longer with us, thoughts go out to his family and friends."

A post mortem examination was unable to identify the cause of Mr Jones's death. Toxicology tests are now under way.

He had left Club Babylon in nearby North Street minutes before he collapsed. Police are appealing for any information from club-goers to help unravel the mystery.
