Cannock Chase Drama Society to perform Jack and the Beanstalk

Cannock Chase Drama Society are back with their new production - written in collaboration with West End director Eric Potts.

Director Julie Hunter said: "Featuring all the traditional ingredients of the original tale plus sensational songs to a live band, dazzling dance routines, fabulous costumes and bags of audience participation this pantomime is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.

"It's actually the first time we have ever had a giant physically on stage.

"We have some small fairies who are set to steal the show with their magical dance that makes the beanstalk grow.

"We are a welcoming and supporting society who encourage members of the community to take part. Our youngest performer will be six during the run of the show."

Members - nearly 40 in total - have been rehearsing twice a week for the show, which will be arriving at the Prince of Wales Centre in Cannock on Thursday, January 24.

It will run until Saturday, January 27 with evening and matinee times.
