Olly Murs to play Birmingham

Pop icon Olly Murs is set to bring his huge new arena tour to Birmingham.

The announcement comes ahead of the release of his new album You Know I Know on November 9.

The singer, songwriter, television presenter and actor first rose to fame after finishing as a runner-up in the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, losing out to Joe McElderry.

In 2010 Olly released debut single Please Don't Let Me Go which went straight to number one in the UK Singles Chart.

In the same year the Essex star released his self-titled debut album that went on to be certified double platinum by the BPI.

He has since gone on to release a further five studio albums, featuring his songs such as Dear Darlin', Heart Skips a Beat, Up, Dance With Me Tonight, Troublemaker and That Girl.

The 34-year-old artist has also appeared as a coach on the seventh series of The Voice UK, and returned to The X Factor in 2013 as a guest mentor.

Olly Murs will play Birmingham's Genting Arena on May 10.

Tickets go on sale from 9.30am on October 12.
