It's quite a change from running the bar and club at a football ground to running a pub in a busy high street.

Licensee Sid Kelly has been running The Brier Rose in Brierley Hill for 1 year.

But that's the challenge Stuart Horton and Sid Kelly took on 12 months ago.

The pair will have been familiar faces at Rushall Olympic FC in Walsall, where they ran the bar and social club for 16 years.

Now they have moved from 'The Pics' in Dales Lane to the Brier Rose in Brierley Hill, hoping to make it into the premier league of pubs in the area.

They marked their first year in charge with a night of celebration and music at the end of last month.

The Brier Rose on High Street was formerly HSBC Bank and opened in October 2021, after a huge refurbishment.
