Amethyst Academies Trust chief executive to retire after 40 years in education
The chief executive of a West Midlands education trust is stepping down after four decades in education
Nicola Licata is to retire as chief executive of Amethyst Academies Trust, prompting a search for her successor.

Nicola, who has worked in education for 40 years, founded Amethyst Academies Trust in 2014.
The trust has since grown to five schools across Wolverhampton and Telford, including Aldersley High School, Moreton School, Penn Hall School, Telford Park School and Tettenhall Wood School.
Nicola began her career as a primary school teacher in Derby before moving into secondary education at a school which had recently been placed in special measures.
She later became headteacher of Aldersley High School, a role she described as "the greatest privilege" of her career.
The trust's board of trustees will now begin the process of recruiting Nicola's successor.

Nicola said: "After 40 years in education, I have taken the decision to retire from my position as CEO of Amethyst Academies Trust.
"It has been an immense privilege to serve children, families, staff and communities throughout my career.
"I am incredibly proud of Amethyst Academies Trust and the communities we serve, and of the culture of ambition, inclusion and collaboration we have built together.
"As we begin the recruitment process for a new CEO, I do so with great confidence in the future of the Trust and gratitude for everyone who has been part of the journey."
