Care group celebrates Diwali across its homes
A Midlands care group has brought the Festival of Lights to life across its 16 homes with a series of vibrant celebrations to mark Diwali.
Residents, family members and staff across the Macc Care group, which operates homes across the East and West Midlands, came together to celebrate Diwali, which was held on October 11, with vibrant dance performances, homemade snacks and special events.
Wulfrun Rose, located in Wolverhampton, marked the festival with a Bhangra performance, which saw residents, staff and local schoolchildren from Berrybrook School dancing and enjoying tasty Indian delicacies. Meanwhile, at Dora Rose, based in Stafford, the home’s care team treated residents to traditional dance performances and a feast of freshly made samosas and spring rolls.
Wyrley Rose, located in Great Wyrley, also kicked off the festivities with a live Bhangra performance from Ultimate Bhangra, accompanied by a selection of Indian snacks. The dancers had residents, their relatives, staff and community members all joining in the fun and dancing with them.
Meanwhile, at Watermead Rose, located near the Golden Mile in Leicester, which is known for its large Diwali celebrations, residents enjoyed the vibrant festivities with the wider community. The home hosted live singers and dancers, while residents created Diwali decorations to showcase throughout the home. The celebrations were complete with Indian treats prepared by the home’s chef.
Bhav Amlani, Director of Macc Care, said: "Diwali is a time for celebration and community. It’s wonderful to see our residents, their families, staff and the wider community come together to mark this special festival. At Macc Care, we’re committed to fostering environments that not only provide high-quality care but also celebrate the cultural and personal connections that make life richer and more meaningful."
