Former pop musician and composer Clint Mansell from Stourbridge has written the soundtrack for a new movie version of the classic Daphne du Maurier 1938 novel Rebecca.

The film, starring Lily James and Armie Hammer is released on Netflix on October 21.

The movie is directed by Ben Wheatley, who Clint – the former leader of Stourbridge group Pop Will Eat Itself – worked with on High Rise.

He has composed music for many high-profile film and TV projects since leaving the band.

Rebecca is the first major film adaptation of the novel since Alfred Hitchcock’s 1940 version starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine.
