The club are now unbeaten in four games in League Two.

Salford City boss Peter Cklamovski was proud of his side’s performance after they extended their unbeaten League Two run to four games with a 1-0 win over Swindon Town at Moor Lane.

A Joe Powell wonder goal 13 minutes from time proved the difference, keeping the Ammies in touch with the play-off places while the Robins’ wait for an away win goes on.

Swindon started on the front foot, pinning Salford in their own half, but failed to generate any real clear-cut chances.

The hosts grew into the game, with Brendan Wiredu coming close on a couple of occasions before the break.

Town should have led shortly after the interval when Aaron Drinan raced through on goal, only for Will Norris to deflect his effort wide.

That miss proved costly in the 77th minute when Powell fired home from over 30 yards for the only goal of the game to secure the points.

Peter Cklamovski, who has seen his side recover from three straight defeats at the start of the campaign to move up to 12th in the table said: “I’m really proud of the players, they deserved the victory and it’s a good three points.

“That was via our football, our mentality and our composure with our performance as well.

“In the first half we had some good looks and went in 0-0. But we knew another 45 minutes like that and if we keep building our football, we’d get our rewards.

“It took a cracker from Joe Powell again to unlock the game. We deserved the three points and we’ll keep building from there.

“It’s a really good reflection of what the boys do as a group every day and we’ll take some positives from today’s game.

“It’s something we’ve been talking about as a group, building that mentality and composure with our football and we got our rewards today.

“We’re building a team to be ready for anything and today’s performance was a really good reflection of that.”

Swindon boss Ian Holloway, who is yet to see his side score a goal away from home this season and went into the away fans before the game to thank his supporters, said: ”It’s a massive improvement compared to what we’ve done so far on the road.

“We created possibly the best chances of the game and didn’t take them and then it was an absolute sucker punch.

“They had a lot of crosses and corners but we never looked like conceding.

“They didn’t cut us open or get down the side of us or do any of the things that happened last week.

“I’m sure their manager will be very pleased with three points because deep down, I don’t think they deserved it.

“I thanked the fans for coming today because it’s difficult at times when you’re not getting the results you want, but it’s vital that people understand I really care about that.

“It’s vital that we acknowledge the wonderful belief and effort and time and money.

“I’m sure the ones that came today will see the improvement and will come again next time we’re away.”
