West Brom and Wolves stars receive call ahead of Black Country derby
There is both Albion and Wolves representation in the Wales squad ahead of the extended international break this month.
Albion defender Chris Mepham and Wolves midfielder Jordan James have received calls from Wales ahead of the upcoming international break.
The pair are set to lock horns in Sunday’s Black Country derby at Molineux but will come together afterwards for national duty.
They have been included in Wales boss Craig Bellamy’s squad as Wales kickstart their Nations League campaign with three fixtures in the extended break, which crosses September and October.
Wales travel to Portugal and Denmark for group D clashes on September 24 and September 27 before a home fixture against Norway on October 1.
New Wolves recruit James, 22, has 26 caps for his nation while experienced Hawthorns defender Mepham, 28, can win a 56th cap.
Albion attacking star Isaac Price has landed a call for Northern Ireland for the upcoming break.
Price, who turns 23 later this month, has been an influential figure for club and country and boasts a particularly impressive scoring record for Michael O’Neill’s side.
The former Everton youngster has 10 goals in 32 caps ahead of four Northern Ireland fixtures, against Georgia (September 25), Hungary (September 28), Ukraine (October 2) and Georgia (October 5).
Baggies star Callum Styles is expected to have his call to Hungary’s squad confirmed.
Villa’s John McGinn is set to win cap number 90 for Scotland as boss Sebastien Pocognoli, the former Albion defender, kickstarts his regime.
