'Amazing football' - Cesar Peixoto makes confident Wolves prediction
Wolves are back at Molineux on Saturday - a week after the boss was booed.
Cesar Peixoto is confident he will soon have Wolves playing “amazing” football after claiming he understands the frustration of supporters.
The head coach is back at Molineux on Saturday when his team take on Cardiff, a week after he was booed and told he “didn’t know what he was doing” by some fans during a win over Watford.
Despite sitting fourth in the Championship, Peixoto acknowledges his team must improve if he is to get the entire fanbase on his side.
But he also believes winning when they are not at their best is an essential quality if they are to maintain a promotion push.
“I think now we are going to improve for sure,” he said. “The players believe in our idea of the game, believe in what we did in the past and during the week.
“The quality is going to go up with confidence, with the wins.
“Like I said before, big teams - and I was champion in Portugal four times - they don’t play well in all the games.
“But when you don’t play well and win, it is very important. We don’t play the best football at the moment, it is true. But we win and are fourth.
“The team with time and recovery of players is going to grow. We know what we have to improve.
“When we don’t play well and win, it is very important.
“When we play amazing football and win, OK! The amazing football will come for sure in the future.”
Wolves enter the weekend just two points behind the top-two and Peixoto described their position as “not perfect but not a drama”.
Asked if he felt a little hard done by in taking flak from fans he replied: “I understand everything, I think it is important to say that.
“We have to work hard, we have to do better in the games.
“That is what I am focused on, winning games and putting our supporters with us.
“I never have been arrogant when I talk with the supporters.
“Do we have to do better? Yes, we are going to try and do better to push our supporters to us.
“This kind of sensation, when they don’t feel the team is playing like they want, is normal.”
