The 27-year-old will spend the whole of 2020/21 at the Super Lig side, on loan from Stoke.

It is a fresh start for Afobe – who scored 29 goals across two spells at Molineux – after a tough year both on and off the pitch.

“I’m pleased to be joining Trabzonspor for the season,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll give 100 per cent.”

Afobe spent last season on loan at Stoke’s Championship rivals Bristol City but after a sharp start, scoring three goals in five games, he suffered a knee injury in September 2019 which saw him miss most of the campaign.

Last November, his two-year-old daughter, Amora, passed away due to complications from a severe infection.

Trabzonspor recently won the Turkish Cup and are managed by ex-Albion assistant boss Eddie Newton. They began the new league season last weekend with a 3-1 loss to Besiktas.
