Nuno's side are still sitting pretty in the Premier League, but Saturday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle was a frustrating affair.

Wolves levelled after falling behind but a winner proved elusive – and Nuno has reaffirmed the need to bring in someone who offers something different this month, so those sorts of games end up as wins instead of draws.

"Of course, we need solutions," he said after the Magpies stalemate.

"We need more than a specific position. We need players who can bring us different situations – to help us in these kinds of games.

"We'll be working hard on that. Hopefully, things work out and we can solve it."

Wolves are short on numbers in attack as Patrick Cutrone was let go to Italian club Fiorentina last week – on a loan deal which will become permanent in the summer of 2021.

Diogo Jota, meanwhile, is injured and set to undergo a scan on the problem picked up at Watford on New Year's Day.

The Portuguese was on crutches in the days afterwards, but is now off those.

Nuno has said it is 'obvious' the club must bring at least one fresh face in.

The Wolves chief was left frustrated by the Newcastle performance as well, as he felt it fell short of expectation.

"I'm not happy because we didn't perform how he all wish and expect we should do," said Nuno.

"That's why I'm not so happy, because I always want perfection. Sometimes days like this happen."

When asked if fatigue had anything to do with the disappointing draw with the Magpies, Nuno added: "No. It's nothing to do with that.

"It wasn't the best one. It's just that the final touch from us must be better, of course."
