Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro struggling with injury
Ivan Cavaleiro has been struggling with an injury for some weeks, Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed.
The winger missed Saturday's opening-day 2-2 draw with Everton at Molineux, with Wolves twice coming from behind thanks to goals from Ruben Neves and debutant Raul Jimenez.
Cavaleiro mostly featured from the bench in pre-season amid speculation that he was set to be sold, particularly after Wolves spent a club record £18million on Adama Traore from Middlesbrough.
He featured for 32 minutes against Stoke, missed the defeat at Derby and then came on as a sub for the final 13 minutes against Villarreal.
Nuno said of the 24-year-old: "He's injured. He had a problem in a training session a couple of weeks ago.
"Against Stoke he tried to manage his time. Last week against Villarreal he managed his time. So we're taking care of Ivan on those terms.
"We have to manage his time because he's not totally 100 per cent fit. That's one of the reasons why he wasn't available.
"He needs to rest. First, he needs to feel free of pain, then we can start training him again."
