West Brom 1 Spurs 1 - player ratings

Tony Pulis extended his unbeaten run to four games with a 1-1 draw against Mauricio Pochettino's undefeated Tottenham side at The Hawthorns yesterday. Here, Albion reporter Matt Wilson rates the Baggies players.

Ben Foster - Man of the match

Kept Albion in the match during a one-side first half when he made four world class saves in seven minutes, pushing a Ben Davies shot around the corner, smothering Dele Alli twice and somehow getting a fingertip to a fierce Christian Eriksen drive. Didn't deserve to let in a goal, but kept his head afterwards, tipping Eriksen's injury-time free-kick over the bar. 9/10

Craig Dawson

Quite a few of Tottenham's attacks in the first half came down Dawson's side, and he was caught out when Dele Alli broke through one-on-one. Dealt well with Erik Lamela apart from an early scare five minutes in. 6/10

Gareth McAuley

Struggled to contain Vincent Janssen's power in the first half, as the big Spurs striker held up the ball with his back to goal. Also gave Spurs a couple of openings with mis-kicks, but improved in the second half. 6/10

Jonny Evans

Cleared crosses and stood out in a sweeper role while McAuley was preoccupied with Janssen. Covered his team-mates on several occasions and looked confident in possession too. 7/10

Allan Nyom

Not his best game. Looked flustered at left-back and didn't know whether to follow Tottenham's free-moving wingers inside or not, and so was regularly caught out of position. Also wasted a couple of good counter-attacks in the second half. 4/10

Matt Phillips

Another solid performance from Phillips defensively, who chased the ball diligently. However, he wasn't able to make any telling contributions in the final third and was substituted off with just over 20 minutes to go. 6/10

Claudio Yacob

It was always going to be important for Yacob to play well, and though the Spurs midfielders found pockets of space in the first half, the Argentinian improved in the second half. Blocked shots and stole possession. 6/10

Darren Fletcher

Spent most of the game chasing Victor Wanyama's shadow and failed to step on the ball as much as he would have liked to. When he did have possession, his usually reliable passing went astray. 5/10

James McClean

Another impressive performance from the in-form winger, whose added some quality in recent weeks to his usual hustle and bustle. Swung in a couple of inviting crosses towards Salomon Rondon and also went on the odd dangerous dribble too. It was his first-time shot that forced Hugo Lloris into the save that led to Chadli's goal. 7/10

Nacer Chadli

Like the majority of Albion players he spent the first half chasing mustard shirts, but benefited from the game opening up after the break. Kept possession well and took the only chance that was presented to him in typically clinical fashion. That's four goals in five games now. 7/10

Salomon Rondon

An unusually quiet game for the Venezuelan, who was still feeling the affects of the international break. But he was up against the meanest defence in the league, and was unable to shake off Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen whenever a ball came into the box. 6/10

Substitutes

Chris Brunt (For Phillips 68)

Made a difference when he came on for his first game in nearly eight months, driving Albion forwards with clever passes up the pitch. Won the corner that led to Chadli's goal and took it too. 7/10

Craig Gardner (For Chadli 87)

For two games in a row, Albion have conceded a late equaliser after the midfielder has entered the fray. 5/10

Unused: Boaz Myhill, Jonas Olsson, Hal Robson-Kanu, James Morrison, Jonathan Leko.
