And the Albion boss is hoping a change in preparations will pay dividends by helping his team to replicate their impressive form at The Hawthorns on their travels.
Albion have chartered a plane to fly the team from Coventry to the south west on Saturday morning, with Mowbray hoping the easier journey does his players the power of good.
"Sometimes when results aren't going as you'd like you have to change things around and we're hoping using a different mode of transport to get to Plymouth will help," he said.
"We'll be leaving Coventry airport on Saturday morning and flying down there. Hopefully the lack of of a long coach journey will help the preparation.
"It's all part of the thinking at a very busy time of the year when we've got another long trip to Southend coming up on the back of it.
"It was something we felt was right at this time and hopefully we will reap the benefits of a change in routine for away games.
"If you keep the same routine you can sometimes get a very similar performance. It makes sense to try something like this.
"Hopefully the day runs smoothly and we get a positive result. If it does, it's something we can think about doing again in the future."
Mowbray is no stranger to travelling to away games by plane, having done it during his time with Ipswich, but it's the first time Albion have flown for several years.
"At Ipswich we would fly regularly to places like Manchester, and mix training up quite a bit," he added.
"A lot of people do try to change routines to try to snap people out of it when things are tough.
"But regardless of how you get there and your preparation, it's about being ready when the whistle goes for a very determined side that are having a decent season."
