The Welsh forward has started just one match for the Baggies this season – but he has made a number of telling contributions after being introduced as a substitute.

Robson-Kanu helped inspire Albion to a point after coming on at Fulham back in September.

He also drew the foul that led to a red card for Yoann Barbet – and subsequent goal for Matheus Pereira – in the victory at QPR.

The striker also netted the winner from the bench at Middlesbrough and also scored against Charlton – despite the Baggies being reduced to 10 men following Nathan Ferguson's red card.

"He (Robson-Kanu) keeps making a difference and that is why he keeps coming off the bench," Bilic said.

"When you come off the bench you have to make a difference and raise the level.

"That is what he is doing.

"He was needed against Charlton. I told him when he came on, you have to play for two. You have to run for two, you have to keep the ball for two, you have to shoot for two.

"He did that. And the goal he scored deserved to be a winning goal."

Meanwhile, Albion are amongst the clubs keeping tabs on non-league striker Ronald Sobowale according to reports.

Sobowale is the cousin of Bayern Munich star David Alaba and has been in prolific form for non-League club Whyteleafe this season.

The 22-year-old is currently on trial with Middlesbrough.

But a host of other clubs are said to be interested in the striker – with Albion, Fulham, Watford and Leicester all reportedly keen on the youngster.

Sobowale was part if Chelsea's academy until he was 15 but was then released by the Premier League giants.

He has scored 10 goals in 11 matches for Whyteleafe who play in the Bet Victor South East League this season.

The forward has previously been on trial at Cardiff where he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 friendly win over MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.

He has also spent time with Barnsley and Brentford.
