Lucky pair hit bingo jackpot

Two members of Mecca Bilston are celebrating after picking up more than £200,000 and £100,000 respectively.

A 40-year-old mother from Wednesfield won the bigger cash pot as well as regional and house prizes of £1,403 and £250.

She said today: "I never expected to win this much money. It's mind-blowing. I just can't comprehend it."

The woman, who works as a site manager for a cleaning company and asked not to be named, has been a member of the Springvale Way club since 1998. She added: "This is going to make such a difference to my children's future. I'm going to be putting some money aside for them. We're also going to take a family holiday."

The other winner was a 43-year-old from Dudley. Details were only today made public.

The club also had two regional winners last week. On Wednesday a young woman won £3,000 and the next day a Bilston man in his 20s won £1,100.

*Punters in Wolverhampton are preparing to mourn the loss of the Mecca bingo club in Skinner Street, which will close on March 31.
