A man and a teenage girl charged over the death of a three-year-old Wolverhampton boy had their court case adjourned this afternoon.

Chris Taylor, aged 23, and Kayley Boleyn, 18, were remanded in custody when they appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court.

They are accused of causing or allowing the death of Ryan Lovell-Hancox, who died on Christmas Eve after being taken to hospital from a flat in Slim Avenue, Bradley, Bilston, two days earlier.

The case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing, which is likely to be held at Birmingham Crown Court on June 26.

An ambulance was called to the flat on December 22 to reports of an unconscious child.

He later died at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

At an inquest, opened at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court, the boy's parents were named as housewife Amy Hancox, aged 20, and unemployed John Lovell, 23.
