Lanes closed on M5 after fairground lorry overturns between West Bromwich and Oldbury

Two lanes are closed on the M5 in Sandwell after a fairground lorry overturned this morning (March 26).

National Highways West Midlands have warned that two out of three lanes are closed on the motorway southbound between J1 West Bromwich and J2 Oldbury  "due to an overturned lorry."

They added in a post on X: "All emergency services en route. Please expect delays, we'll keep you posted."

West Midlands Roads added:  "Traffic is diverting off at J1 , around the island and back onto M5 via the entry slip. Expect delays from #M6 and around #WestBrom."

National Express West Midlands' 74 service is expected to face delays due to the incident, Transport for West Midlands warns.

Emergency services have been contacted for a comment.
