Technical issue with freezers leaves shoppers with limited choice at West Bromwich supermarket
Tesco has apologised and said it was working to return the store to full availability.
A West Bromwich supermarket has been left with a limitation on what frozen products it can sell after a technical issues with freezers and fridges.
Freezers and fridges inside the Tesco Extra store in West Bromwich were left empty on Thursday morning after the issue was reported, with a limited number of products such as milk and frozen pizzas available, but other items like vegetables and meats left empty.
Signs were also left inside freezers to inform customers that they were out of order and to ask staff for assistance.

Shoppers heading out of the supermarket, which is located next to the New Square shopping centre, said they were disappointed at the lack of selection, but understood that Tesco were working to get the problem fixed.
Barry and Patricia Miles had come to do their weekly shop and said they understood what had happened.
Barry said: “It’s one of those things, isn’t it? We’d heard about it the other day and decided to come down to see if it was working or not.

“It’s frustrating, but not much we can do and we’ll just have to shop elsewhere today.”
Patricia said: “We’ve come to do our big shop today and we did think that they might have fixed the problem by now, but never mind.
“We’ll have to shop elsewhere as that’s going to be easier, but I know they’re doing their best.”

Another shopper, who didn’t want to be named, said: “I don’t know what the full problem is and I wouldn’t want to fully comment, but it is what it is.”
A spokesman for Tesco said: “Our West Bromwich Extra store is open as usual, however, due to a technical issue we currently have a limited range of chilled and frozen products available.
“We’re working hard to return the store to full availability in the coming days and apologise for the inconvenience.”
