Stafford drink driver, 32, found guilty of being double the limit
Lengthy road ban and expensive legal bill handed down over motoring offence
A drink driver who was more than double the limit in a pick-up truck at a retail park has been banned from the road.
Richard Biggin, aged 32, drove a Ford Ranger at Newport Retail Park, Audley Avenue, Newport on April 25 this year.
A breath test found that Biggin had 84 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system, more than twice the legal limit in England and Wales of 35mcg.
Biggin, of Park Lane, High Offley, Stafford, Staffordshire, pleaded not guilty to driving with alcohol above the legally specified limit, but was found guilty at Telford Magistrates Court.
Magistrates banned Biggin from driving for 20 months and fined him £360.
Biggin was also ordered to pay £650 in prosecution costs and a £144 victim surcharge, bringing his total legal bill to £1,154.
