'Temporary access routes' set to be in place at Codsall Leisure Centre as major refurbishment goes ahead
Work will get underway on September 7.
Temporary access routes are set to be in place at Codsall Leisure Centre as refurbishment works go ahead next month.
Work on a major £892,862 refurbishment of Codsall Leisure Centre is due to get under way from Monday, September 7.
The improvements planned for the changing rooms, reception and entrance. However, the first phase is set to focus on the pool changing rooms, with the implementation of new flooring, lighting, vanity units, toilets, showers and lockers.

The swimming pool is expected to remain open throughout the work, with public swimming sessions, lessons and other swimming activities continuing as normal.
But the centre has warned that temporary access routes will be in place.
In a post on social media, Codsall Leisure Centre said: “Customers should wear suitable outer clothing or a changing robe over swimwear when arriving and leaving the centre. After swimming, swimmers will be able to towel dry in temporary changing arrangements before leaving the centre.
“Changing or undressing on poolside will not be permitted. Please allow a little extra time on your first visit while you familiarise yourself with the temporary access routes. These temporary arrangements are needed so the works can be carried out safely while the swimming pool remains open.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
Improvements will also be made to the reception and entrance, including a new reception desk, revised layout, flooring and lighting.
Once the reception and pool changing rooms have been completed, work will move on to the dry-side and squash changing areas, along with corridors and other circulation spaces.
The refurbishment, commissioned by South Staffordshire Council, is expected to be completed by March 2027.
