Man in 20s dies in crash between car and truck near West Midlands town
Another man was taken to hospital
A man has died and another has been taken to hospital following a crash between a car and a pick-up truck near Stourport-on-Severn.
Ambulance crews rushed to Ribbesford Road near the town after being called to the scene at 10.23am on Friday (July 17).
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and two Midlands Air Ambulance helicopters attended, but sadly a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
West Mercia Police has launched an investigation into the crash and asked for any witnesses to come forward, especially those with dashcam footage.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a man, in a critical condition, receiving CPR from fire service colleagues.
“Ambulance staff and medics immediately took over to administer advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.
“A second man was treated for serious injuries and taken to Worcester Royal Hospital via land ambulance for further treatment.”
PC Chris Woolman from West Mercia Police said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and the man who is injured.
“We would urge anyone who saw either vehicle, a red Vauxhall Astra which was travelling towards Stourport and a white Hilux 4x4 pick-up which was travelling towards Bewdley, to please contact us.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage to help us support our investigation into the collision.”
