Star Witness: Quiet dignity of occasion captured perfectly

Our Star Witness photography showcase is going from strength to strength, with dozens of readers getting behind the lens to capture our region at its most photogenic.
While many of the images have been beautiful landscapes or striking images of landmarks, readers are showing they can turn their creative eye to news events just as well.
This image of British Legion wreaths laid at Tipton captured the quiet dignity of the occasion perfectly.
Photographer M Keeling captured a simple cross, dedicated to Guardsman Daniel Probyn, aged 22, from Tipton, who died in an explosion in Afghanistan on May 26 2007.
Other images sent to Star Witness from Remembrance events around the region included veterans gathering in Wolverhampton city centre, and Phil Beckett sent us images of members of the public paying their respects in Bilston. He captured veterans and families marching through the town centre during Sunday's event.
Social media editor?Mike Woods said:?"The standard of photography so far is excellent and we are really impressed with how many people are keen to share their pictures of life around the West Midlands and Staffordshire.
"We hope to be launching an app for mobile devices in the near future which will make it even easier for people to send in their images.
"Readers are taking photographs on everything from professional cameras to iPads and mobile phones, proving that you do not need to have a background in photography to get great results."
We've now had more than 250 images submitted to Star Witness, and have already handed out a £100 cheque to October's winner.
We'll be giving away the same amount each month to the photographer who's captured the best image.
Remember, there are no restrictions on how many pictures you can send, and videos are also welcome.
