Signal failure disrupting tram services in Wolverhampton station

Tram operator gives apology for disruption

Tram passengers are facing disrupted journeys due to a traffic light failure on a Wolverhampton main road.

This means there are no services setting off from the city’s railway station or St George’s. Travellers are making their way to the Priestfield stop where services are running to Birmingham and back.

Operator West Midlands Metro posted on X: “@WMmetro due to a traffic signal failure on the Bilston Road there is no service operating between Wolverhampton and Priestfield.

“The service is operation between Priestfield and Edgbaston Village only. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

It is the second day in a row that passengers have seen journeys disrupted. On Saturday a tram broke down in Bull Street in Birmingham city centre resulting in split running on the network -from Wolverhampton to Bull Street, then Millenium Point to Edgbaston for most of the day.
