Multiple roads in Wolverhampton will be closed off for surface improvements this weekend.

Multiple roads in Wolverhampton will be closed off for “short periods” on Saturday 13 June, City of Wolverhampton Council said.

The roads will be closed temporarily for surface treatment improvements as part of the council's £10m highways investment.

The affected roads are Old Heath Road, Spring Road, Manor Road, Vaughan Road and Stowheath Lane.

The council stressed that the work will be weather permitting and signed diversions will be in place for drivers.

The council said: “Surface treatment improvements as part of the council's £10m highways investment means Old Heath Road, Spring Road, Manor Road, Vaughan Road and Stowheath Lane will temporarily close for short periods tomorrow (June 13).

“Work is weather permitting & signed diversions will be in place.”

It warned there may be some loose stones on the roads for a short time after the work has been completed. Motorists are urged to drive slowly and follow signs.

The council added that road sweepers will return to clear excess material and sealing treatment will be applied on a separate date soon after to make the surface watertight.
