An upmarket country pub near Wolverhampton has closed for 10 months for a £1.5 million refurbishment that will include the creation of a 22-bedroom hotel.
Bosses of The Countess Arms on the A41 at Weston Heath, near Weston Park, say the move has been sparked by a big demand for overnight accommodation.
As well as the new two-storey hotel, its restaurant, which now caters for 60 guests, will be extended to accommodate more than 100 diners and there will be space for late-night functions and conferences.
