A thriving pub in Bridgnorth which attracts diners from far and wide with its popular traditional food will close at the end of the month with the loss of 16 jobs.
The Folly Inn, in Stableford, Bridgnorth, will shut on August 28.
Landlord Karl Hughes says he has been forced to call last orders at the popular pub due to spiralling rent imposed by Marston's brewery, which owns the pub.
The father of one claims his bills have increased in the two years since he took over The Folly in July 2009, wiping out profits.
Marston's spokeswoman Kimberley Owen said: "We fully support all of our pubs, and through our retail agreements we provide a flexible solution for our tenants. Marston's takes great care to ensure rents are set at a sustainable level. It is then the responsibility of the licensee to ensure overall profitability."
