More arrests over murder of man stabbed outside West Midlands home

Three more people have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man stabbed to death outside his house in Birmingham.

The men, in their 20s and 30s, remain in custody today after being arrested overnight in connection with the murder of Zeshaan Shaukat.

Mr Shaukat, aged 34, was attacked at around 11.50pm on August 25 outside his home on Ashville Avenue and died of his injuries in hospital three days later.

West Midlands Police said investigators have been gathering CCTV and carrying out other enquiries as they build a full picture of what happened and who was responsible.

Extra patrols have been happening in and around the area to reassure the community since the attack.

Detective Inspector Nigel Box, leading the investigation, said: "These arrests are another significant development in our investigation, and we have updated Mr Shaukat’s family.

"We’ve now arrested 11 people as part of our investigation, and we expect that number to grow as our investigation progresses.

"While we are making good progress, it’s still really important that people with information come forward and tell us what they know, so that we can bring everyone involved in this violent attack to justice.
