Matalan store in Walsall undergoes major refit in £25m project
The branch near Walsall town centre was given a facelift under a £25 million programme
A Walsall clothes and homeware store will be celebrating its revamp with fun shopping when workers with a combined 75 years service perform the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Matalan’s at Reedswood Retail Park, in Reedswood Way, has undergone major refurbishment with an updated shop floor, creating a brighter, more contemporary and welcoming space for shoppers.
The project is part of a £25 million investment programme across the chain’s branches.
Improvements include redesigned departments and improved layouts making it easier for customers to check out latest fashion and homeware collections.
The refreshed store now features sleek fixtures, upgraded fashion displays, modern grey mannequins, new illuminated light boxes and new signage off Six Towers Road.
Alongside Matalan's own collections, shoppers can also browse a selection of popular concessions in-store, providing even more choice for the local community.

To celebrate the refresh a special launch event will take place on Saturday (August 29) from 9am onwards starting with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony led by three of the store's longest-serving employees Susan Pilbeam, Anne Barclay and Wendy Page.
All are celebrating an incredible 25 years of service at the Matalan Walsall North branch.
Customers are invited to explore the transformed store, with early arrivals having the chance to pick up a golden envelope containing an exclusive discount. Special offers and hidden vouchers will also be available throughout the week, giving more customers the opportunity to join in the celebrations.
Store manager Ankar Dhaliwal said: “We’re thrilled to welcome customers back to our newly refreshed store. The transformation has given the store a fantastic new look and feel, creating a brighter, more modern and enjoyable environment for customers to shop and explore.
“We’re especially proud to have Susan, Anne and Wendy cutting the ribbon to officially mark it. Between them, they represent an incredible 75 years of service at our store, and their commitment and dedication to our customers and local community makes them the perfect people to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter.
“We’re proud to offer our local community an improved shopping experience, with refreshed departments, updated displays and a great selection of fashion, homeware and brands to discover.”
There is another branch at Broadwalk Retail Park, in Bescot Crescent. Matalan's latest collections are also online.
