Wombourne Model Railway Exhibition will be held at Wombourne Civic Centre from 10am to 4pm.

Bryan Shear, spokesman for the event, said there will be 21 different layouts at the Gravel Hill venue.

He said: "We have 21 different layouts of all different sizes and eight trade stands at the event.

"Last year we had 506 visitors, this will be our third year.

"We tend to find that in the morning we get all the railway enthusiasts then from about 1pm we get families and children, the people who come along to have a look and have a train set in the loft but haven't seen it for years.

"It's one of the few exhibitions in this area that is held at this time of the year and the venue is absolutely gorgeous with lots of free parking."

Mr Shear said last year the event raised £2,000 for a charity which rescues golden retrievers from abroad, which costs around £800 or £900 to bring the animals to the UK where they are rehomed.

The entry price for adults is £5, concessions and children 12 and over is £3 and children under 12 are £1.
