Drivers face penalty points after blocking footpath near Walsall crossing
The vehicles were parked close to a pedestrian crossing
Drivers who allegedly blocked a footpath next to a pedestrian crossing could be hit with penalty points and fines after being spotted by police officers on patrol.
West Midlands Police officers came across the vehicles on Bridgeman Street in Walsall on Tuesday, September 15, with police saying the parking had left the footpath completely obstructed.
The vehicles were parked close to a pedestrian crossing, prompting officers to take action over what they described as “dangerous parking”.

Police said the motorists face three penalty points on their driving licences and a £100 fine as a result.
In a post following the incident, officers said: “The drivers who decided to completely obstruct a footpath today next to a pedestrian crossing on Bridgeman Street face three points and £100 fine after being seen by officers on foot patrol.
“Their dangerous parking will not be tolerated.”
The action formed part of the force’s Safer Towns Summer initiative.
