Diversions remain in place for a section of the M6 after a serious collision in the Midlands.
The M6 in Leicestershire/Warwickshire is closed northbound between the A14/M1 (Catthorpe interchange) and J1 (near Rugby) as emergency resurfacing works continue this morning (June 2).
National Highways has warned of “congestion building on the A426 south diversion route” but say there is “no significant delays on approach to the M6.”
The works come following a serious crash, which occurred shortly before 5pm on May 31. Reports say a lorry had crashed into the central reservation and then flipped over.
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed that it sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene along with an ambulance from East Midlands Ambulance service.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an RTC involving one lorry on the M6, Junction 1 at 4.46pm, yesterday, and sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
"An ambulance from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended. On arrival, crews found a man, who they treated potentially serious injuries before he was conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire under emergency driving conditions."
