Woman charged with driving and drug offences after vehicle stopped in Walsall

A woman has been charged with offences ranging from theft of a motor vehicle to drug possession after a car was stopped in Walsall.

West Midlands Police said that Jennifer Beaumand has been arrested after a vehicle was stopped on Dalkeith Street on Monday, with screwdrivers and a hammer found inside.

The force confirmed that Beaumand, 37, from Willenhall, had appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday. No details are yet available for her appearance.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A woman has been charged with a number of offences including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a knife and having both Class A and Class B drugs after a stolen vehicle was stopped in Walsall.

"Jennifer Beaumand, aged 37, from Willenhall, was appearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court for a first hearing today (Tues).

"She has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for theft. 

"She was also charged with failing to provide specimen for analysis, using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.

"She was also charged with possessing both Class A and Class B drugs.

"It comes after a stolen vehicle, which initially made off from officers, was stopped in Dalkeith Street, Walsall, yesterday. Screwdrivers and a hammer were located in the vehicle."
