Two women arrested on suspicion of Walsall supermarket theft involving goods concealed in a pram
Two woman have been arrested on suspicion of theft after goods were found concealed in a pram in a supermarket.
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the supermarket on George Street on Monday night after reports of items being concealed in a pram and the women attempting to leave without paying.
The force said the women were arrested and remain in custody while enquiries continue.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’ve arrested two women on suspicion of theft after goods were concealed inside a pram in a Walsall supermarket.
"Two women, aged 32 and 23, were arrested and taken into custody following the attempts to steal from the store in George Street.
"Response officers were called shortly before 10.30pm last night (Monday) after items had been concealed in a pram and the women tried to leave without paying.
"Two women remain in custody as we continue with our enquiries.
