Judge tells drug addict forced to sell cocaine to pay off debts his 'story is a familiar one' in the Black Country before giving him 'a second chance'
A former drug addict caught selling cocaine in the Black Country to pay a debt off to his dealer avoided jail after turning over a new leaf becoming a carer for his mother.
Christopher Bayliss was pulled over by police in Oldbury in the early hours and officers found cash, two mobile phones and 12 wraps of cocaine.
The 31-year-old claimed he was forced into dealing after falling into debt due to his own cocaine addiction.
After being charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply Bayliss moved to Kent and turned over a new leaf by kicking his habit and becoming a registered carer of his ill mother.
Bayliss, of Flanders Close, Sittingbourne, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court this week.
